Purpose/Goal:The typical reasons for giving a presentation are to inform, persuade, motivate and entertain. You need to capture your audience’s attention and maintain their interest throughout the entire presentation by defining the purpose clearly.
There are different goals for a presentation.
Here are six types of goals:
1. To inform,
2. to Educate,
3. to Persuade or Convince,
4. to Activate,
5. to Inspire or Motivate,
6. and to Entertain.
Description:A presentation is a process of presenting a topic to an audience. It is typically a demonstration, introduction, lecture, or speech meant to inform, persuade, inspire, motivate, or build goodwill or to present a new idea or product. The term can also be used for a formal or ritualized introduction or offering, as with the presentation of a debutante. Presentations in certain formats are also known as a keynote address
Examples:A presentation program is often used to generate the presentation content, some of which also allow presentations to be developed collaboratively, e.g. using the Internet by geographically disparate collaborators. Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides are effective tools to develop slides. Content such as text, images, links, and effects are added into each of the presentation programs to deliver useful, consolidated information to a group.
